JST's sealed Micro USB connectors are waterproof and provide compact, reliable connections for cellular and mobile applications

JST's sealed Micro USB connector provides a space saving and low profile interface connection for cellular phone and mobile equipment conforming to Micro USB (universal serial bus) standard with an IPX7 sealing rating (water tight for 30 minutes to a depth of 1 meter). The sealed Micro USB connector ensures the waterproof performance of IPX7 by using the gasket and the cured resin. The low profile height of only 3.4 mm (0.13”) is achieved by having the rubber seal directly around the shell. The rugged construction includes a laser welded joint around the shell that provides strength against wrenching.

This low-profile SMT connector is RoHS compliant, rated at 30 V AC/DC, and available in five circuits; the signal contacts are rated at 1 A AC/DC. When applying power, the signal lines are rated 0.5 A AC/DC and the power contacts are rated at 1.8 A AC/DC. The sealed Micro USB connector has an operating temperature of -30°C to +85°C, including temperature rise when applying an electrical current. The PCB mounted contacts are made of copper alloy, nickel under-plating, and gold plating. The housings are UL94V-0, thermoplastic resin. The shell is stainless steel, nickel base, tin-plated, and the shell cover is copper alloy, nickel base, tin-plated. SMT headers are provided on embossed tape for automatic insertion equipment.
